President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Monday that
recommends US children receive fewer vaccinations spread out over
a longer period of time, despite little scientific evidence
supporting such changes. While the Trump administration says the
shift is meant to give families more flexibility in deciding when
to vaccinate their kids, many doctors say the president’s
approach could instead create greater uncertainty and confusion.
For now, though, as millions of children head back to school, not
much will change. Health experts say any shifts to the shots
available or the CDC’s recommended schedule could take months or
years — if they happen at all. The order will now likely be
