<p style="margin: 0;"><span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(128, 126, 131);">Buyers in the EU have been snapping up all LNG from Russia’s Yamal LNG terminal they can secure, just months before a full EU ban on Russian will take effect at the start of 2027. The European Commission President Ursula van der Leyen, meanwhile, proposed gas price caps, enhanced power purchase agreements (PPA) or contracts for difference (CfD) to shield industry and households from soaring energy costs caused by the halt in Middle Eastern LNG deliveries.</span></p>

Her proposed measures echo the 2022-2025 EU gas price cap, meant to be activated only above €180-275/MWh versus global LNG benchmarks.</span></p>
