Memo: Team Lunch Ideas for Next Week<br>
From: Jamie, Office Coordinator<br>
To: All Staff<br>
Date: October 12<br>
<br>
Hi everyone,<br>
<br>
Let's brainstorm some ideas for the team lunch next Thursday. We have a budget that should cover a nice spread. I was thinking we could do something a bit different from the usual sandwich platter. Maybe a build-your-own taco bar We could get soft an
d hard shells, seasoned ground beef and chicken, and all the toppings – lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, salsa, sour cream. It's usually a crowd-pleaser and allows for various dietary preferences.<br>
<br>
Alternatively, a large pasta salad with grilled vegetables and a couple of protein options could work well. We could include a vegan pasta and a gluten-free option on the side. I know Sarah mentioned last time that she loves a good Greek salad, so we
could incorporate some of those elements too – feta, olives, cucumbers.<br>
<br>
Mark from accounting suggested we do a baked potato bar. That could be simple and cost-effective. We could bake a bunch of potatoes and set out chili, broccoli, cheese, bacon bits, and chives. It's hearty for this cooler weather.<br>
<br>
Please reply with your preferences or other ideas by end of day Monday so I can place the order. If we go the taco route, I need to know if anyone has serious spice aversions for the seasoning. Also, please indicate if you have any new dietary restri
ctions I should be aware of.<br>
<br>
On a separate note, don't forget the department meeting is at 10 AM on Tuesday in the main conference room. We'll be reviewing the Q3 projections. Bring your updated reports.<br>
<br>
Thanks,<br>
Jamie<br>

Personal Note: Tried a new recipe last night from that cookbook I got for my birthday. It was a honey garlic chicken stir-fry with snap peas and bell peppers. It turned out pretty well, though I think I added a bit too much soy sauce. The recipe call
ed for a tablespoon, but I think my tablespoon measure is oversized. The sauce became very dark and quite salty. Served it over jasmine rice, which helped balance it. Next time, I'll reduce the soy sauce and maybe add a splash of orange juice for a l
ittle sweetness and acidity. The snap peas stayed nice and crisp, which was good. I like when vegetables have some texture. My partner suggested adding cashews next time for crunch, which is a great idea. I'll have to pick some up on my next grocery
run. We usually shop on Saturday mornings, but this weekend might be busy. Need to check the pantry for other staples too – running low on olive oil and black pepper. I should make a list.<br>
<br>

<br>
Dialogue from the coffee station:<br>
"Did you see the new coffee pods they stocked"<br>
"Yeah, the dark roast from that local roaster. I tried it this morning."<br>
"And"<br>
"It's strong. Very bold. Not as smooth as the medium blend we had last week, but it gets the job done. I added a bit more cream than usual."<br>
"I'm a purist, just black for me. I'll give it a try tomorrow. Need the caffeine boost for the afternoon budget review."<br>
"Good luck with that. I heard the numbers are looking tight this quarter."<br>
"Always are. But we'll manage. We always do."<br>
<br>
---<br>
<br>
Journal Entry: The park was especially quiet this morning. The leaves are really starting to turn – brilliant reds and oranges along the main path. I walked for about forty minutes, just listening to the birds and the rustle of the wind. It's a goo
d way to clear my head before the workday begins. I've been trying to be more consistent with these morning walks. They help with focus. I need to remember to charge my headphones tonight; the battery died halfway through my podcast yesterday. The ep
isode was about urban gardening, which is interesting but not really applicable to my apartment balcony. Maybe I could try growing some herbs. Basil or mint. Something simple. I'll look into what might survive with the light I get in the afternoon. T
he balcony faces west, so it gets strong sun later in the day. Need to find plants that can handle that.<br>
