Memo: Team Lunch Ideas for Next Week
From: Jamie, Facilities

Hi everyone, just putting together some thoughts for the upcoming potluck. We've had a lot of great suggestions lately, and I wanted to consolidate them before the meeting Mark from produce mentioned his famous three-bean salad, which was a hit last quarter. Sarah in bakery offered to bring a couple of fresh sourdough loaves, which would be fantastic.

We should consider dietary preferences. Lisa noted several team members are avoiding gluten, so having a clear labeling system for dishes is probably a good idea. Maybe we can have a separate table for those items. I was thinking of making a large batch of roasted vegetable and quinoa salad—it's usually pretty popular and works for most diets.

On a different note, the coffee machine in the west break room is acting up again. It's making a gurgling sound. I've put in a service request, but in the meantime, the one near the manager's office is fully operational. Remember to descale your home coffee makers regularly with vinegar; it really does extend the life of the machine. My brother, who is a bit of a coffee enthusiast, says the water quality makes a big difference in the taste of both automatic drip and single-serve brewers.

Back to food: for those who like to cook, I found a great recipe for a hearty lentil soup that uses kale and sweet potatoes. It's very simple—sauté onions and garlic, add vegetable broth, rinsed lentils, and diced sweet potatoes. Simmer until tender, then stir in chopped kale just until wilted. Season with smoked paprika and a bit of thyme. It's even better the next day. We could make a vegetarian version and a version with chicken sausage for the meat-eaters.

Also, regarding the community donation drive, we have collected a good number of canned goods so far. Let's aim to have all boxes by the loading dock by Friday afternoon. The local food bank specifically mentioned a need for protein items like peanut butter and canned tuna, but anything non-perishable is appreciated. Let's try to beat last year's total. It's a good cause.

Finally, the weather is supposed to turn cooler next week, so those of us who take walks during breaks might want to have a light jacket handy. The trees in the parking lot perimeter are starting to change color—it's quite a view in the morning sunlight. Okay, that's all from me for now. Send any other potluck ideas my way Let's have a productive week.

P.S. Don't forget to update your project timelines in the shared folder by EOD Wednesday. The management review is scheduled for Thursday morning, and they'll be pulling the reports directly from there. It's not a complicated process, but it does require the most recent data. If you have trouble accessing the folder, let IT know sooner rather than later. They're usually quite quick to reset permissions.
