I’ve been lucky to share a soul-bonded connection with my twin my
entire life — almost like we knew each other’s thoughts before
our own. Moving across the country for college was one of the
hardest decisions we made, especially as she battled a long list
of illnesses and injuries. Still, she graduated from MIT a few
weeks ago and even raced at the Henley Royal Regatta last week. I
couldn’t be more proud — just wish I’d been there. For most of
our lives, our closeness was partially defined by proximity: same
schedules, same friends, even a secret language. College
separated us, and while our bond never wavered, I worried our
lives might. Growing up means learning to show up from afar. Your
parents leave too early, your partner comes too late. But a twin
is forever — wherever that may be. If there’s one thing I know to
be good, it’s Grace. Here are some good things that happened this
